The 07 Lotus driven by Kimi failed a post-quali floor deflection test. The matter has been referred to the stewards. I'd write more but there's not much to say that the linked article doesn't cover in a few sentences.

UPDATE: 3:29
Iceberg Lettuce will start from the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! of the grid after his 07 Lotus failed its floor deflection test. Romaine Lettuce had been referred to the stewards previously in the year after his 08 Lotus failed the same test; the stewards took no action, deciding excessive curb damage was the reason for the failure. Team Lettuce made the same argument this time around but the stewards weren't buying it.
I was kind of down the middle insofar as last week's kimi/lotus debacle went down but I don't want to hear any conspiracy theories start popping up. Lotus is severely in need of cash and the idea that a team in their position, one on the very cusp of being 'elite' and a very real contender, would intentionally have something like this happen is laughable. Please don't bring that weak tot action to this post.

If he gets an actual penalty, I think he will most defiantly not come back for the final two races.

Is what it is — top teams can pretty well move through the field from the back. Romaine just did it and, hell, Seb started from pit lane last year (and then the back of the back again after front wing damage) and still managed to finish 3rd. Sure, it took a safety car or two and some other, let's say, "shenanigans" but it can certainly happen.

Usually his antics are amusing, but that would be deeply annoying. I've really grown fond of Kimi + Lotus, and really want to see him race at COTA (from the stands, hopefully!). That would bum me way the heck out.

Could you imagine a Webber, Massa, Hulksmash podium?

I had heard, though haven't read it or seen it anywhere, that his contract stipulated the amounts he hasn't been paid yet were to be paid at the end of the season. I haven't done any looking into it because I don't care enough/at all about the drama or side stories that happen off-track.
Any knowledge on whether or not that's true/what exactly is the deal?

It would be nice. Hulk and Webber had a pretty crappy race last year. Though I'm still not sure about Webber's incident; something seemed a little fishy about it, especially how it helped Seb with the SC.

Haven't seen any of his actual contract(we never will), but I thought he was supposed to be paid in installments and he has yet to get any money.
I'm willing to drive for free, they don't even need to feed me, I can take care of that.

I understand, but even without being able to see his contract, I'd bet that he'll get his money from Lotus in the end. Lawyers can work that out, but lawyers can't make it up to short-changed fans... seems like some sense of loyalty to the fans, if not the team, should keep him in the car for the last two races. I know we like him because he doesn't give a shit about anything, but it's cooler to respond nobly to being mistreated.
It'd be kinda like when Bill Murray wrote a check to Wes Anderson for the cost of a helicopter-filmed scene that never even made it into
Rushmore
, even though it was far more than he was being paid for the film.
